Last week Rockbridge held a series of services focused on awakening, renewal, and revival. There are many incredible stories of healing, salvation, and greater commitment to God that has come about. Saturday evening of the revival we had one man come forward to accept the Lord. God having showed us to be prepared, the baptistery was filled and ready and we baptized Jim Fields into the faith. What an amazing testimony.
Going forward, post-revival our challenge as believers is to tend the fires God has lit in our hearts and continue being revived. The message on October 13, 2019 is focused on the story of Elijah and the revival of Israel that resulted from the display of God’s power on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18-19).
Afterwards Elijah was led 40 days into the wilderness to stand in the same place as Moses and to be challenged with the question, “What are you doing here?’
We are seeking to take that same 40 day journey to tend the fire of revival in our hearts and hear the still small voice of God.
